- More than 26% of Las Vegas residents speak a language other than English at home
- 14% of Las Vegas residents do not speak English very well
- More than half of people in Las Vegas who speak Spanish do not speak English well
- More than 1/3 of people in Las Vegas who speak Asian languages do not speak English well
- More than ¼ of people in Las Vegas who speak Indo-European languages (other than Spanish) do not speak English well
The linguistic diversity reflects Las Vegas’s ethnic and racial diversity:
- Almost 20% of the Las Vegas population is foreign-born
- 66% of foreign-born residents come from Latin America
- 19% of foreign-born residents come from Asia
- 10% of foreign-born residents come from Europe
- 3.2% of foreign-born residents come from Canada
